Develop the skills needed for this highly sensitive role.

End of life care is one of the most challenging job roles there is, and requires a high degree of sensitivity and respect.

The Highfield Level 2 Award in Awareness of End of Life Care (RQF) has been developed for learners currently in health and social care roles but are interested in progressing into this area. It provides an opportunity to advance their knowledge and understanding, and can be used as part of CPD.

Although a specialist role, it’s also acknowledged that quality end of life care should be provided by all carers when required. Therefore, this qualification can provide learners with a basic understanding of how to approach end of life situations sensitively, respectfully and with a focus on quality.

Topics covered include:

  • Different perspectives on death and dying
  • Understanding the aims, principles and policies of end-of-life care
  • Understanding factors regarding communication in end-of-life care
  • Knowing how to access the range of support services available to individuals and others
  • Understand how to work in end of life care
