Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People
Provides essential knowledge on the responsibilities around safeguarding children and young people.
Over the last few years, a range of legislation has been introduced to safeguard children and young people, namely Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the Children Act 2004.
All of these place duties on a range of organisations to ensure they have regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
The Highfield Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People (RQF) has been created to inform learners on how to safeguard children, young people and practitioners in the workplace, as well as how to respond to evidence or concerns about abuse.
It supports the appropriate safeguarding training of staff and is ideal for supporting a role in the workplace, including those in voluntary or unpaid roles.
Topics covered:
- How to safeguard and protect children, young people and practitioners in the workplace
- How to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young persons has been abused
